RELATIONAL MAP
Define actors, relationships and boundaries before drawing
Start from the decision and specify which actors, resources, rules and technologies can change access, value capture or execution. For every relationship, state its type, direction, weight, source and date. A contract, citation, investment, data flow and informal influence are not interchangeable links. Unknown relationships must remain unknown rather than being inferred from proximity or reputation. Use a stable identifier for each actor, define the observation window and keep duplicate, historical and disputed relationships traceable so that the network can be reproduced.
